Business Movies

by rwaters on April 6, 2011

It has come to my attention as a rabid movie watcher that I should add my ideas about business movies and how they can be helpful as inspiration AND cautionary tales. Learning from other’s mistakes can save a LOT of time and lawsuits. According to www.BusinessPundit.com these are the 50 Best Business Movies Ever. (http://bit.ly/2xDZED). I do not agree with them all. You knew that. “The Godfather” the BEST Biz movie EVER? Hmmmm. They do have a breadth of movies from “Mildred Pierce” to “The Insider” covered.

In any event it is MY plan to review business-oriented movies in a more detailed manner. BP for example does not include “The Bad & the Beautiful” with Kirk Douglas & Lana Turner OR “Executive Suite” starring William Holden & Barbara Stanwyck at all. Yikes! I will have to do something – Kidding.

Are there business movies YOU want to want to me to review here? Leave their names in the comments and I will handle as many as I can. Where did I put my copy of “American Gangster????”

Jerry McGuire!!!! I can’t tell you how much that whole scenario mirrors mine. I left a large firm with one client and only the faith that “doing the right thing” will lead to success.
When I made the decision to make the leap, I call it my “Jerry McGuire” moment.

@Saundra – great choice! It was a lot of fun and a very interesting view of how some agents have “challenging” clients.
